Jane (Nawoj) Klamerus, 96 years, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at Pacifica Senior Living in Encinitas, CA.
Jane (Nawoj) Klamerus, 96 years, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at Pacifica Senior Living in Encinitas, CA. She experienced a fun day playing balloon volleyball in the afternoon, had a typical dinner in the dining room, watched the evening movie in the living room and then was escorted to her bedroom by the caregiver. On the way, she fainted and shortly thereafter passed.
Jane loved java chip ice cream, kosher pickles, kielbasa, spending time with her grandchildren, reading James Patterson novels and watching the Hallmark channel. She had been an amazing seamstress, cook and baker (Polish dishes like pierogi, gołąbki, kolacki). Jane spent many years taking care of both her mother and her husband so when the time came for Jane to be taken care of her daughter Karen was there.
Jane is survived by her son Kenneth (Jean) Klamerus and her daughter Karen Klamerus; her grandsons Daniel Klamerus, Joseph Klamerus, Peter Zeller, Lukus Zeller and Jakab Zeller.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents John and Katherine Nawoj and her brothers Joseph and Edward Nawoj.
No formal service is planned. Cremation is through Cremation Services, Inc. (www.csicremationandburial.com). Jane would not want us to be sad but rather would glow when smiles were around. So in her honor, do something simple that would put a smile on your face and thus hers: indulge in a bowl of ice cream, fly a big red balloon, put one special flower in a vase in your bathroom, eat an entire chocolate/nut bar, hum while cuddling a child, etc. and say out loud, “Cheers to you, Jane. Thank you for being part of my life”.

While at UCSD, she worked her way up to Program Manager of the Integrated Library System (ILS) for the online library catalog. Stella served her community throughout her working life and into retirement: a volunteer at Encinitas public schools, a mentor for bilingual children, a coordinator of the Burke Lecture Series through the Newman Center, a leader in the YMCA adult walking program, and a volunteer and board member at the Encinitas library. She loved hiking Batiquitos Lagoon in the morning sun, visiting Balboa Park, driving through the beautiful countryside to Julian, and watching the sunset at Moonlight Beach while breathing in the scent of the ocean air.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29 at 10:30 AM at the Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in San Diego, California.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in her name to the American Cancer Society or Friends of the Encinitas Library.

June 13, 2023, Jennifer Sue Howard, 51, of Vista, CA, passed away peacefully at home after battling ovarian cancer with family and friends at her side.
Jennifer was born on July 12, 1971 to Joanne Warfel and the late Garry Jordan in Phoenix, AZ. There Jennifer grew up in a beautiful home with her parents and sister Janell Kelly. The two of course butted heads as siblings do but were always close since a young age. Jennifer was always active, doing cheer and going to every social event at school. At an early age she was known for making people laugh with her quick wit and for her individuality and strong will.
After graduating from Phoenix Christian High School in 1989 she went on to college to become a paralegal.
Jennifer quickly climbed the ladder in her career and worked for multiple top law firms in Arizona and later California. In 1996 she had her daughter Caitlyn, who she adored. Somehow Jennifer always managed her family and work life balance, even in times of stress. She made sure to show up for the people she cared for.
In 2015 she married the love of her life Jim Howard. The two had gone to the same high school and fate brought them back together years later. The two together were perfect, soulmates. They enjoyed the same things and always wanted to grow together, fought for each other when times were tough, challenged each other when needed, and took care of each other. Jim was her partner right by her side until the end.
In 2021 Jennifer moved to California, which had been one of her dreams for years. She built a home and life there with Jim. They were able to go to the beach any time and she felt her best and at ease when she was in the water.
Jennifer was a strong and beautiful woman, a caring mother, and a leader. She was a jack of all trades and made it a point to succeed at anything she put her mind to. She always stood on her word and did what needed to be done. She encouraged others to also speak their mind and go for what they truly want. And she taught her daughter how to be brave and follow her passions. She always wanted to make everyone else’s life easier and make sure they were happy. Even when she got sick. She made an impact on so many people. And she always made it a point to dress up for an occasion with her colorful clothes and tastefully styled hair. Her bubbly personality always lit up a room and managed to bring people closer together. She filled her life with love and warmth until her last days. She will be missed by all of those who knew her. But we know she is up above still watching over us all and cheering us on.
Jennifer is survived by her mother Joanne Warfel, her sister Janell Kelly, Kevin Kelly, her husband Jim Howard, and her daughter Caitlyn Casey.

He loved the great outdoors, and taught his kids how to fish, navigate rivers and lakes, camp under the stars, ride their bicycles off-road, and to truly appreciate the simple things in life. His son, Keano Gail Barr, was born in 1994 and was a source of much joy and pride in Brandon's life. In the early 2000s, Brandon moved to Carlsbad, CA, and it was at this time Brandon began his career as a plumbing apprentice.

His son Keano joined him in the business in 2018 and worked alongside him until his death. A truly unique individual, he has left us with a gaping hole in our lives, and his favorite saying rings in our ears: "It's always something.”
Special thank you to the medical team at Scripps and the staff at Hospice of the North Coast for their exceptional compassion and care for Brandon.

Warren Lee Dunn 10/24/1941-3/17/2022
Warren was born in Loma Linda, California in 1941 and spent his young years growing up in several Southern California towns, eventually graduating from Chula Vista High School in 1959. His passion for art began at an early age and continued throughout his life.
After high school he worked to save for college and was eventually juried into California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1970. Warren went on to gain a Master of Fine Arts degree in 1972 from the University of Washington majoring in ceramics, cast metal sculpture and glassblowing. Most of his active military service was spent painting murals and instructing in the post craft shops. He was an active member of the San Diego Potters Guild and the Oregon Potters Association in Portland.
Upon graduation, his teaching career in the “fire arts” disciplines began immediately at Lassen College in Susanville. After three years, he secured a full-time, tenure-track position at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington. Over the next thirty years, Warren developed the programs and taught ceramics, cast metal sculpture, glassblowing, jewelry, stained glass, drawing, design, computer graphics and film studies. Though never having had children of his own, Warren considered all of his students as his kids and mentored them through a myriad of educational and career choices. Beyond his passion for art, Warren enjoyed maintaining and showing his restored 1940 Oldsmobile coupe, 1940 Oldsmobile convertible and 1958 Porsche coupe. He also supported several environmental organizations and animal rights groups.
During a sabbatical year leave to study the ceramic forms and graphics of the Pueblo Indians of New Mexico, Warren attended a local Christmas sing around the wassail bowl gathering and was drawn to an angelic voice that belonged to his soon to be wife, Marcia. Marcia followed Warren up to Vancouver where they began their 27 year marriage.
Upon retirement, Warren and Marcia moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico and for the next six years, bathed in the artistic ambience of the town. However, the arrival of a new step-grand-child in San Diego prompted a move back to Southern California. Settling into the retirement community of Laguna Vista Estates in Oceanside, Warren voluntarily developed the Laguna Vista Clay Club where, for nearly ten years, senior citizen residents have been exploring the rewarding experience of working with clay.
After fighting pancreatic cancer, Warren passed peacefully in the presence of his loving wife. He predeceases his brothers David and Mike and his sister Tarey, two nephews, two step-sons and four step-grand-children. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 on April 30 at the Laguna Vista Clubhouse in Oceanside. Warren wouldn’t want to see anyone in a tie, so please dress comfortably. Warren encourages everyone to contribute to charities that care for animals and Earth’s fragile environment.

While participating in the friend’s wedding they quickly fell in love and were engaged and married shortly after. Arlene and Lenny set up an apartment in Weehawken and began to raise a family. They quickly outgrew the apartment and later moved to a larger apartment in Lodi, NJ and then bought a house in Pompton Lakes NJ as their fourth son was born.
Arlene spent most of her time as a devoted wife and mother raising her four sons. She actively participated in Cub Scouts and being a class mother. The family enjoyed summer camping vacations up and down the East Coast. She was active in her community and PTA, helping to bring the “Helping Hands Program” to Pompton Lakes. Arlene also contributed to help make ends meet as a school crossing guard, town librarian and later as a pre-school teacher. Arlene was a devoted Catholic and an active member of St Mary’s Church in Pompton Lakes, NJ.
Before moving to Oceanside CA in their retirement and following two of her sons to the San Diego area she enjoyed playing with her two grandsons, never hesitating to get down on the ground to play with toys and act out what ever character she was assigned in role playing games. In retirement, Lenny and Arlene began to explore the West Coast, taking frequent train and bus excursions, even revisiting Mt Rushmore. Arlene always kept busy as an active member of her condominium board and taking courses at the local community college. Her and Lenny always enjoyed Yoga for Seniors. She was also frequently seen sitting in a chair reading books on the pier while Lenny chatted up the fishermen.
Arlene is survived by her four sons, William Rosky and wife Anne Zenger of Juneau AK, Peter Rosky and wife Tracy of Wayne, NJ and their sons Thomas Rosky of New York City , NY, John Rosky of Aurora CO, son James Rosky and wife Sharon of Oceanside CA and their children Randy Vitello and Heather Snyder and her children Sienna and Scarlett Snyder, and son Charles Rosky of West Milford, NJ. It is with heavy hearts that we share; Daniel “Danny” Duran, age 51, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on January 3rd, 2022.
Danny suffered courageously over 3.5 years with an extremely rare neurological disease called CLIPPERS, diagnosed only 5 months prior to his demise. Sadly, he contracted COVID, which accelerated his final days.
Daniel was born on July 30th, 1970, the third child of seven, eldest twin to Juan R. and Rosario Duran in Tijuana, BC. His family moved to Oceanside CA when he was 3 years old which is where he remained throughout his life.
In his early days Daniel was tenacious, energetic, a happy child. He excelled academically and musically. He enjoyed playing basketball and football and he was a proud Oceanside High School Pirate! His days in the school orchestra battling for violin first chair, and the Triple Superior ranked choir were some of his favorite memories.
Daniel married the love of his life Miriam in 1992. Their 29-year marriage was blessed with two wonderful daughters who were the apples of his eye. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, and he was endlessly proud of his daughters. He made sure that each one had every opportunity available to them. He never passed up a chance to cheer for them at games, competitions, and performances. He was a classroom dad and chaperoned many field trips. Daniel ALWAYS chose family over any other activities.
His greatest joys were his family and his Savior Jesus Christ. Daniel loved praising God. Whether it was singing with the worship team or special music at church. His beautiful, strong voice was inspirational. He was a people person who genuinely cared for others. He made many friends along the way. Regardless of where he went, he would undoubtedly run into someone he knew and would spend time catching up or praying with them. He was a steady, strong, faithful, and loving, son, husband, father, brother, tío, and friend. His infectious smile and laugh will live on forever.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Juan R and Rosario Duran. He is survived by his loving wife Miriam, daughters Vanessa & Cynthia. Father and Mother in-law Marcos & Maria Rosa. Brothers Johnny, David, Carlos, Estevan, Marco, Charles & Danny B. Sisters Ana W., Ana D., Jessica, Joey, Rosalia, Angelica, Martha & Maria. Cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grand nephews.
