Daniel Duran
It is with heavy hearts that we share; Daniel “Danny” Duran, age 51, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on January 3rd, 2022.
Danny suffered courageously over 3.5 years with an extremely rare neurological disease called CLIPPERS, diagnosed only 5 months prior to his demise. Sadly, he contracted COVID, which accelerated his final days.
Daniel was born on July 30th, 1970, the third child of seven, eldest twin to Juan R. and Rosario Duran in Tijuana, BC. His family moved to Oceanside CA when he was 3 years old which is where he remained throughout his life.
In his early days Daniel was tenacious, energetic, a happy child. He excelled academically and musically. He enjoyed playing basketball and football and he was a proud Oceanside High School Pirate! His days in the school orchestra battling for violin first chair, and the Triple Superior ranked choir were some of his favorite memories.
Daniel married the love of his life Miriam in 1992. Their 29-year marriage was blessed with two wonderful daughters who were the apples of his eye. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, and he was endlessly proud of his daughters. He made sure that each one had every opportunity available to them. He never passed up a chance to cheer for them at games, competitions, and performances. He was a classroom dad and chaperoned many field trips. Daniel ALWAYS chose family over any other activities.
His greatest joys were his family and his Savior Jesus Christ. Daniel loved praising God. Whether it was singing with the worship team or special music at church. His beautiful, strong voice was inspirational. He was a people person who genuinely cared for others. He made many friends along the way. Regardless of where he went, he would undoubtedly run into someone he knew and would spend time catching up or praying with them. He was a steady, strong, faithful, and loving, son, husband, father, brother, tío, and friend. His infectious smile and laugh will live on forever.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Juan R and Rosario Duran. He is survived by his loving wife Miriam, daughters Vanessa & Cynthia. Father and Mother in-law Marcos & Maria Rosa. Brothers Johnny, David, Carlos, Estevan, Marco, Charles & Danny B. Sisters Ana W., Ana D., Jessica, Joey, Rosalia, Angelica, Martha & Maria. Cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grand nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 18, 2022, at 3:00pm at the Oceanside 7th Day
