After a lengthy illness Richard passed away Sunday afternoon, October13, 2024.We was 86, just a few weeks shy of his 87th birthday.

Born in NYC, Richard joined the U.S. Navy in 1955and was honorable discharged in 1959. It was during this time that he suffered injuries to both knees that would trouble him for the rest of his life .

After leaving the Navy he worked for several trucking companies in NYC and Long Island and was a member of the Teamster's Union, local 807.

He was married to Catherine Imelda Zumpone (nee Hank) for 68 years! He is survived by Catherine and 4 of his 5 children: Richard (Lisa), Karen, Stephen (Kathleen) and Kevin (Lindsay). Preceded in death by son Michael.

Richard is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He and Catherine were active members at St. Mark's Church in San Marcos, California. Services to be held at St. Mark's Thursday November 14 at 10 am.
