Dorothy Katherine (Green) Weaver

September 25, 1934 - January 17, 2020

Dorothy Weaver passed into Eternity on January 17. She peacefully slipped away, after lying down for an afternoon nap.

She was born in Dayton, Texas to Edmund Leroy and Olive Katherine (Thornton)  Green.

She was the Eldest of 4 Children, born in only 5 years.  Her Siblings were Jack, Ruby and Colleen. She also had a Half-Sister, Mary, who she named.

Dorothy met her future husband, Robert William Weaver,  at Escondido High School, where they were Graduated from in 1953. They  married shortly thereafter.  They had 3 girls together, before they divorced in 1975.

Dorothy was a devout Christian, and counted the day that she accepted him as her Saviour, as the happiest day of her life. Her faith in Him saw her through the many challenges she would face.

She stayed active all throughout her life, which may account for her making it to the ripe old age of 85! She enjoyed reading her Bible, visiting with family, eating out, going to the library (she loved biographies and history), watching American Movie Classics and Westerns and going on outings.

She is survived by her Sister, Colleen Gregorian, Daughters, Cathy Gremett (Husband, Bob, passed in 2015), Cindy Nagy (Husband, Ron), and Connie Hopkins (Husband, Paul).

Between biological, and kids acquired by marriage, she had nine Grandchildren (Lance Gremett (Wife, Leslie), Jessica Gremett Anderson (Husband, Aaron), Matt Nagy (Wife, Jessica), Jennifer Wilson (Husband, Justin), Luke Nagy,  Carly Nagy, Patricia Kelso, Lizabeth Kelso (Husband, Hyacient), Shane Hopkins, and eight Great-Grandchildren, Cody Postoski, Richie Postoski, Spencer Gremett, Jasmine Anderson, Levi Anderson, Elliott Banuet, Remy Jasper and  Desmond Wilson.

Many thanks for all the kindness that has been shown to our Mother, as well as to the family, at this time, as well as during her lifetime. Thanks also to our friends at Sierra Vista and Apreva Hospice, for their support.

Please join us to celebrate her life on February 3rd, at 11am, at Oak Hill Cemetery, 2640 Glenridge Rd in Escondido, CA.  We will meet at the duck pond area, to the left, near the entrance, where Pastor Todd Hitchcock, from Bethel Church, will officiate her interment.  Further remembrance, a slideshow of her life in pictures, and Luncheon will follow at the nearby home of Angie Mocci: 1580 Boyle Ave in Escondido.

Please check this site later, for a full Eulogy, and any other messages that loved ones may want to add here.
